My name is AJ Richardson. A lot of my friends call me either A.Jizzle or Graves. If you're wondering why they call me Graves, I'm a big Butler basketball fan and a guy named AJ Graves used to play for them. After awhile my friends just started calling me AJ Graves. I am a Junior at IUPUI, and I am studying to be a history teacher at the high school level. I do hope to teach college someday, but that will be later in life. I am currently employed at Target. I have worked there for four years. I don't like it, but a job is a job right? I love listening to music. The majority of my music is heavy metal, but I have some lighter stuff in my collection as well. I like to exercise. I also watch a lot of movies in my free time. I recently saw The Hangover. I must admit that I was not that impressed with it. It was decently funny, but I can think of fifty other movies that are funnier than it. I am currently reading The Inferno by Dante Alighieri. I'm actually reading it for fun and not for school. If you need to know more, just ask. I'm probably the most friendly person you will ever meet.
Creating my blog was pretty simple. The only problem I encountered was finding a URL that wasn't already taken. After several attempts I found one that worked. Now I am here trying to find the best way to get everyone to know me.

Hi AJ! I have a daughter who started playing ultimate frisbee this year and dearly loves it. She says she loves the workout it gives her, but I think it's because she's only one of two girls who play....with 15 guys.
ReplyDeleteI too am a music lover but I must admit I'm not familiar with heavy metal. Maybe you could recommend some bands for me to listen to so I can expand my listening repertoire.
Do you have a favorite period of history you like? I took a world history class when I was a freshman in high school. Great teacher, very enthusiastic but one HUGE fault... he couldn't spell. He wrote things on the board phonetically but when it came time for the test everything was spelled correctly. There was not one student who knew who Xerxes was because we all had Zerkzeez in our notes. Good times!
I definitely admire you for wanting to teach history. I'm terrible at history, and that's probably because I'm not one for pure memorization, and all those dates just end up confusing me! So good luck with that--if you really love the subject, I'm sure you'll make a fantastic teacher :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a huuge music fan, but like Christine, I'm not very familiar with heavy metal. My dad used to listen to it (so, the "oldies" I suppose) and still has some old CD's around the house, but that's all I got.
Also, I can't believe you didn't The Hangover! While I will say that the first 1/2 of the movie was much better than the second 1/2, it's one of my favorites. I watch movies all the time too...I just watched Horsemen with one of my friends, have you seen it? It was a good movie; it was super creepy, but it was kind of a mystery movie and made you think. I could go on about movies for forever, so I'll spare you now. haha
Aj - I am looking forward to your description of why you want to be a history teacher! I know several and they always remark how it is so much more than memorizing dates.
ReplyDeleteSo - tell me - why do you hate those teams so much? I grew up in NY and I am a crazy Mets fan and I HATE the Yankees. :)
What's up A.J.? So your a big sports fan? Tha'ts cool. Not so much myself except when it come the Colts. History and social studies is something I'll probably set for my concentration being a elementary teacher. If I wasn't wanting to teach younger I would probably be looking into History as a subject in high school setting. Music is something I enjoy a lot too, but I don't think it's the same type, ha. Check out my link to "last.fm" on my page to see if there is anything you like. It's a good website to find new music.
